Immerse\Interact

The crossover between film, design and digital culture has created a new field in which digital pioneers, interactive designers and graphic designers work together with directors, screenwriters and producers on innovative media productions. Together they explore the future of storytelling in a changing media landscape. This future is digital, sometimes interactive, sometimes immersive, sometimes in co-creation with an audience, but always thought from the power of the story.

The Immerse\Interact scheme stimulates projects within the interdisciplinary media landscape. It is a collaborative project of the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Film Fund. Artistic research and experimentation in the field of digital storytelling and the use of interactive or immersive media are central to this.

Who is eligible?
Depending on the amount of the requested contribution, both producers and individual makers can submit an application. Applicants are established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland.

Film producers and AV producers (a legal entity, not a sole proprietorship or VOF) with a demonstrable track record in the field of interactive storytelling or immersive media forms (360-degree video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality) can apply.

Individual makers who produce the project themselves may also qualify up to a certain amount if they have demonstrable expertise in the field of interactive storytelling or immersive media forms. In order to apply, the individual makers must be registered in the register of the Chamber of Commerce.

Individual makers who apply for realization must have at least one realized and shown project in the aforementioned disciplines. For this, a brief overview of completed projects must be submitted with the application, in which he/she describes his/her own production experience and the display locations per project.

Contribution
The contribution is intended for conducting research, optimizing an artistic concept and other preparatory work prior to the actual production phase.

Development contribution requested by the Film producer/AV Producer
€ 25,000 per project. In addition, a maximum of € 5,000 can be requested for coaching. This coaching contribution must be part of the total amount requested (maximum €30,000) and must be included in the budget. A resume and motivation of the coach are part of the application.

Development contribution requested by individual maker
€15,000 per project. In addition, a maximum of € 5,000 can be requested for coaching. This coaching contribution must be part of the total amount requested (maximum €20,000) and must be included in the budget. A resume and motivation of the coach are part of the application.

Realisation contribution requested by the Film producer/AV Producer
Note: At this stage, the producer cannot also be the director, screenwriter or designer.

Maximum of €100,000 per project for production costs. The fund contribution amounts to a maximum of 85% of the production budget. The budget for the production phase must be balanced within six months of allocation.
It is possible – if properly substantiated – to request an additional contribution of € 5,000 for distribution. The costs for this must be part of the budget submitted with the application.

Realisation contribution requested by individual creators
Maximum of € 30,000 per project.
